Service Learning Course Activity Grant
CI faculty teaching service-learning courses can apply for the Service-Learning Course Activity Grant from the Center for Community Engagement. The grant is designed to facilitate high-impact service-learning practices and projects by covering essential associated costs. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Interested faculty may apply for funds, up to $500 per semeste, to enhance successful outcomes of planned service activities. Funds may be used to support course costs such as: special speakers or presentations; essential tools, equipment, or supplies; group transportation (if not provided by Shuttle Services); and other costs directly related to service-learning. Recipients will be asked to make some type of brief report or presentation about service-learning outcomes to the CCE or at a CCE event.
Funds are being requested for the:
Course title and number
Project description: Please describe in one or two paragraphs the service-learning project(s) your students will be involved in. Include the community identified need/issue, and number of hours they will serve.
Name of your community partner(s)
Number of students in your course
Use of funds: Please describe in one or two paragraphs how you plan to use the funds, and specify how they will help to achieve goals associated with your service learning project and increase its overall impact on students and/or community partners.
Please upload in Excel a budget that includes items needed and cost.
Please upload your course syllabus.
By accepting CCE funding, I understand that funds must be spent in academic year 2014-2015. Funds may not be rolled over into the following academic year.
I am expected to participate in associated campus promotional activities, such as making a poster presentation at the annual Celebration of Service event (if teaching a service-learning course), Wednesday, May 6, 2014 from 11:30-1:30 in Petit Salon, and/or submitting one or more nominations for the Outstanding Community Engagement or Reflective Essay award.
